Fast Forward Dating
In my 2 years at Fast Forward, everything I touched targeted one north-star metric: growing our daily active user base. Below are just a few projects (spanning product, communications, and marketing) I oversaw towards that goal.
Mobile App Development
Fanbase Redesign
When I first came to FFWD, their “fanbase” page was my first issue with the mobile app. With outdated graphics and a static design that failed to showcase the apps key video-first feature, I set out to re-design keeping key features (and more modern principals) in mind.
Chats Redesign
One of Fast Forward’s key features if the “timer” they place on matches and chats. When users match on Fast Forward, they only have a week to connect before their match expires. When I first joined, this feature was poorly explained and executed, so I overhauled the design and implemented a user education modal.
On-Boarding Redesign
In April 2023, Fast Forward’s churn rate was astronomical (~70%) — in part because of poorly designed user flows in onboarding. When users first come to Fast Forward, one of the first things they have to do is record a video of themselves for potential matches to see — scaring users off. I implemented both a trial period, and enhanced onboarding modals, bringing down day one churn rate over 72%.
