Web3 Socials Competitive Analysis

Last summer, I completed a weeks-long research project on the web3 twitter space.

This project was commissioned by eVerse, a web3 video content platform, that was looking to take over in this market. Looking at countless web3 companies, brands, and individuals I performed a competitive analysis. What was setting successful accounts apart? Did community engagement on socials contribute to the overall success of the product?

Web3 is a highly-engaged community on twitter and discord. Trends move around quickly and constantly. Crypto-influencers who post too often and too controversially risk being accused of “engagement farming” by others in the space. Influencers and brands that are not active enough, or play it too safe, risk losing engagement and relevance altogether. The web3 social space is inundated, competitive, and somewhat suspicious. While many individuals are constantly fighting to lower the “barrier to entry,” infiltrating the “in” audience still remains difficult for those on the outside.

I researched this hot market using both twitter and discord to see which brands were outperforming others, and why. Below is a sampling of my findings. Findings were used to inform a go-to-market strategy for eVerse, as well as their social-launch.
